Employers simply can’t ignore social media. It is here to stay and will continue to evolve. The radical shift to the internet and the desire to be “connected” 24/7 has made having an online presence one of today’s most popular trends in business and life in general. But, what are all of the implications for the workplace? This session is focused on the top five internal and legal implications of social media as it relates to all aspects of the “Employment Life Cycle.” From recruiting and onboarding, to employee relations and training, we’ll highlight the gamut of considerations for your social media policies, procedures, and practices.

Wednesday, June 27th Employee Handbooks: The Good, The Bad, The Necessary

This “Top 5″ session provides participants with a high-level overview of the considerations necessary to developing or revising an employee handbook.

We’ll cover minimizing legal risk, developing a handbook reflective of an organization, as well as production issues such as language and style,

including:

* Pros and cons of an employee handbook

* Employee handbook versus policy manual

* Recommendations on what to include and what to exclude

* Communicating and maintaining the handbook

This session is designed for office managers and anyone interested in the process of revising or developing a handbook.

Wednesday, July 25th Top 10 HR Mistakes Employers Make

In this session, we’ll walk through our Top 10 checklist of the most common errors made in managing the “People” side of business. From hiring practices to employee relations and compliance requirements, we see them all in our business! We’ll provide tips and techniques that you can put into place immediately to shore up your practices and plan for smoother sailing ahead.
